My Linksys Router EA8500 has problem - Keep disconnect the internet (both wire & wifi)

I've bought the EA8500 a year ago, back then i didn't turn on my EA8500 24/7 so it's working fine if i turn on/off each day.
Lately i put my EA8500 working 24/7 & buy a 12x12 fan put near the EA8500 to cool it off, then the problem comes up.
Detail: 
If i put the EA8500 working 24/7 with no reboot the router. between 24hrs-72hrs working, at some point the router will auto-disconnect the internet (both wire & wifi). The LED logo Linksys will start blinking on & off. Only if i turn the router off & turn back on it will work again.
So i guess there must be a way to set a reboot schedule in the router right? but when i log-in to the router there is no option for me to set that kind of schedule. 
I don't know this is an error or this is the normal way of EA8500 works.

I already have installed the lastest firmware for this router 1.1.9.192968 but the problem still exist.
I heard there is a 3rd firmware called dd-wrt i don't know if i change to this firmware will it fix my problem?.

WRT32X bottlenecking

hi all

 

my setup is as follows

 

WRT32X - standard frimware v 1.0.180404.58

 

virgin media 200mbps package with virgin superhub 3 set to modem only mode

 

router internet port is conected to port 4 on the modem

 

router is set to DHCP

routeris given  external IP from the modem

 

 

all networking and tests done over cat6 cabeling and 1gbps capable devices

 

 

 

 

the whole time iv been on this setup (circa 1 year)  iv had a download speed of around 186 avarage and 190 peak. and an upload of around 8 avarage 9 peak

 

my package is 200 down 20 up. today i did some investigation and found that direct connection to the modem when in modem mode or router mode gives me 220 down and 20 up. 

 

the speed test in the router shows 220 down 20 up also!

 

full reset on the modem has been done. reboot has been done on the router but not a reset (lots off settings id rather not lose just yet and its not like it managed 220 when it was set up)

 

iv also tested doing 2 devices at once and the combined upload and download was also 186/8

 

 

any ideas whats going on here? its a pritty expenensive high end router. should be able to route that connection pritty easily!!!

New WiFi Router Selection Help

Hello,

 

I’m looking to buy a new WiFi router and need to know which products have the following features.

 

* Permanent DHCP reservations (serves up the same IP address for a given MAC address).

 

* 1 Gigabit Ethernet WAN and LAN ports

 

* Does not require a mobile app to configure. I hear new routers require a mobile app.

  I want to point a web browser to the gateway port like I do with the older router models.

 

Suggestions are appreciated.

How to assign wireless printer an IP

I would like to assign a wireless printer that I have, an IP. I mean, it has an IP (I can log in and see the printer's browser UI from my laptop), but the printer itself keeps on going offline (or just turning off by itself), and I was told to look at the MAC for the printer (which I do have) and then assign an IP for that in the router settings. 

 

I logged into my router's browser UI (Linksys E1200) but I have no clue what to do from here on out. 

 

Can someone help me out here?

Difference Between MR9600 and MR9610 (AX6000)?

I ordered an MR9600 WiFi 6 Mesh Router from Amazon on Prime Day, but what arrived was an "AX6000" with a sticker on it from Sam's Club (?!?!?!).

 

From searching on Google, this seems to be an MR9610, which doesn't seem to be listed on the Linksys website?

 

I just want to know if I got a better or lesser router than the MR9600, and what the differences are?  Did I get some rebranded bargain warehouse version or what?

RE6500HG firmware upgrade corrupted

Hi,

 

I succesfully updated the firmare on one of my RE6500HG wireless range extenders this afternoon and the extender is now workind very well.

I have another RE6500HG wiht out of date firmware so I tried u[dating the firmware on that one.

I recieved an error message halfwayt throught the update. Message was sonmething likje ""upgrade is corrupted". The update stopped and the RE6500HG rebooted.

Now the RE6500HG will not OMPLETED set up.I tried restting the extender, unplugging the extender. The extender starts flashing a white light for approx a minute but then goes dark and nothing happens. I don't see the extedner setup network tha I usually do for seeting up the extender.

Any suggestions on how to recover from the corrupted firmare upgrade?

Why is the MR8300 incapable of providing over 50mbps speeds via WiFi?

I can only get the 2.4 channel in 802.11g and the 5ghz channel in 802.11a.

 

This means my 500 MBPS connection only gets about 20 MBPS on my devices when I speedtest.

 

What is this garbage? The MR8300 is a total piece of garbage. The app and online direct connect to the router don't allow me to customize or change anything. Even the help articles aren't even correct for this horrible piece of hardware.

WRT3200ACM DNSmasq

I have a PiHole set up on the LAN and all DNS requests are handled by the router and not the clients themselves. I'd like to have the router forward the DNS queries rather than making the queries on behalf of the client.

I have a Pi-Hole set up and the logs say my WRT3200ACM is making DNS requests to belkin.com very frequently. Both A and AAAA record requests. Anyone know why?

 

The router is on stock firmware.

Hi

 

The router has 2 pugs able to support a storage connection: an USB3 one and an USB2/eSata one. Can I have two  disks plugged. I would apeciate to stuup aNAS on the UDB3 and another disque for misceanous usages n the other one

The Linksys documentation is not 100% clear regarding this feature.

Possible ot not ?

Velos MX5 5300 maximum connections

I have a Velop MX5 5300 router.

I have 43 devices connected and I’m going to wire my whole house with light switches, fan controllers, etc.

Do routers have limits to the number of connections that can be made via Wi-Fi?

Does this one have limits?

Router Suddenly dropping connection

I have an EA3700 router and I have an issue with some devices. The router randomly just cuts the connection to my device. I can't even access local devices on the network or 192.168.1.1. Usually I have to turn Wi-Fi off and on again on the device to make it work. I managed to confirm that the issue is not isolated to Wi-Fi, I have tested the same device on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi and the issue still happens, Although, it's not all my devices, it's a few of them only; MacBook Air, Note8, Roku TV are the ones I have noticed with the issue so far.

Also, I switched the router with an older Asus one I had and it gave no such problem. I have also reverted the firmware on the EA3700 and still no luck.

Any help is appreciated especially now that all class are online. Thanks in advance!

WRT3200ACM Connect USB Storage from Linux Ubuntu 20.04

Hello,
I just bought a new WRT3200ACM router because the old one WRT1200AC is down and now I cannot anymore connect my PC Linux Ubuntu using file explorer to the external USB disk after made setup of FTP and DLNA- UPnP. FTP works with Filezilla but I have an error message when trying from explorer the connexion is rejected by router. I of-course I added the right to directories from Linksys interface.

WRT3200ACM DHCP to set DNS to the clients please

Hello,

 

In Linksys interface I don't see any option to make the DHCP set the DNS server directly on clients. If you set a DNS, it ends up for the client querying the router querying the DNS server.

 

I have my own DNS server (pihole) and I can't monitor who query what that way.

 

DD-WRT permits to change that by adding dnsmasq but it would be nice to permit it also in linksys interface.

I guess the reason why is that parental control would not be possible anymore but it's nice to let people decide how to do it.

Hello guys,

thanks in advance for your support.

EA8300 asks for an Access Point password every time once I reboot the router. It's relevant as for Guest WiFi points as for main network WiFi ones.

How could I fix it?

I recently received this router as a second hand, sadly encountered some problems.

My firmware is the first one(2006), because years passed Linksys doesnt provide anymore firmware updates.

Can anyone send some download link so i can update the router and hopefully fix my problems.

AC1200 (EA6350) Router - Slow ethernet speed

Hi, 


I purchased an AC1200 (EA6350) router a few weeks ago to set up a new home office and all of the devices plugged into this router via ethernet cable are seeing less than 50% of the expected download/upload speeds.  Without the router (direct from modem to PC), speed tests read at 210 down, 11 up, while the router brings this down to 80-90 down, 5 up, as if the ports are set to 100mbps and not Gigabit.  I've found only one topic, here:

but the solution here did not fix the problem.  In fact, doing this actually slowed the speeds down even further into the 70s for download and upload to 3.  Is there any fix for this?  I cannot find any settings in the router configuration menus because everything is linked to Wi-fi, which is no help.

x3500 problem

Hi

 

a few days a go I swapped out old router modem for a Linksys x3500.

 

Just about everything went well.

 

The only issue I have is that out printer cannot now be accessed by any PC that is connected to the router as a wireless client.

 

The printer is an Epson WF-2660 - it is connected by an ethernet cable to the x3500.

 

If I want to print I can:

- connect an ethenet cable from my PC to the x3500 and it will work

- or connect the PC to a powerline that has a partner connected to the x3500

- or email the file to Epson and their "Connected" service will forward it to the printer

 

But as soon as I use wireless to attach to the router the printing fails?

 

Having looked at the secret Advanced_Wireless.html page of the x3500 it appears that AP isolation is off?

 

Any suggestions for how to fix this would be great.
