EA8300 Drops Internet repeatedly
This is my third EA8300. First I bought a EA8500 refurbished. Didn't turn on. Got a RMA and replaced with EA8300 refurbished. Refurbished EA8300 didn't turn on as well. Linksys replaced with new EA8300. After using for 20+ days of new EA8300 where Internet dropped connectivity almost 50 times. Tech support replaced another new EA8300 last week. Here we go again, setup the new EA8300 and updated the latest firmware (1.1.3.184925) from linksys website and today is the 3rd day, I already lost internet connectivity for 4th time. I had to recycle my EA8300 to get the internet back.
This new firmware has band steering option. I turned off and setup manually as follows:
2.4 GHz band : Channel --> 6 - 2.437 GHz, Wi-Fi Mode --> 802.11n only, Security mode --> WPA2 Personal, Channel Width --> Auto
5 GHz1 band: Channel --> 36 - 5.180 GHz, Wi-Fi Mode --> Mixed, Security mode --> WPA2 Personal, Channel Width --> Auto
5 GHz2 band: Channel --> 100 - 5.500 GHz, Wi-Fi Mode --> Mixed, Security mode --> WPA2 Personal, Channel Width --> Auto
Also, Under Media Prioritization, turned on Prioritization, prioritization speed has auto set based on the speed of my ISP (download --> 88.61 Mbps and upload --> 12.42 Mbps)
Added couple of my devices to the prioritization list.
When I had Asus RT-N56u all these days with the same Modem, it never disconnected for years.
This is so FRUSTRATING!!! Can someone help or does this needs to go back as well?
EA7500 Linksys Logo flashes when configured in Cascade, and unable to access configuration page.
Hello,
This may be two separate issues, and I am planning to return the router today for a new one to see if these issues are resolved, but I suspect they will not be, hence the post.
- I just purchased this router yesterday to replace an older, slower Linksys, for my home. It also was set up in cascade mode with the router provided by my internet provider being the primary. It worked fine. As for this EA7500, I am seeing two issues. One, the "linksys" logo is flashing constantly on the new router. From what I have found online, it appears that is because I am in a LAN-LAN configuration and I am not using the Internet port, so the router does not think it is connected to the internet (but it is, through the other router).
The second issue is that after about 45-60 minutes, I lose connectivity to the configuration page on the router. I've tried from several computers, and all I get is the blue screen, and a message saying the browser is trying to connect (Chrome). To resolve this, I have to power cycle the router. Then I can get in again, for about an hour, then nothing again. I have tried both by IP address, and the Smart WiFi web URL, same results.
Also, as a point of reference, when I first set up the router, I powered it up, only hooked to may PC, and changed the IP address to 192.168.1.2 and turned off DHCP, so it would not conflict with my main router.
Anyone with any thoughts on this issue? Is it possible the two are related, meaning could the flashing logo, indicating the Interenet is not available, cause some sort of timeout that is not allowing me to reach the configuration page. Let me add, that during all of this, the router appears to be working great in all other aspects (much faster than my old one).
Thank you.
The "Thank You Liniksys" thread
Wanted to try and clean up the other WRT3200ACM Wifi issues thread and start a new one.
This post is a resounding "Thank You!" to Linksys for garbbing the bull by the horns and sending us WRT3200ACM owners replacement routers till you can resolve the issue with our equipment.
My Velop arrived just now via UPS overnigiht, and i couldn't be happier with how Linksys has decided to deal with the issue.
You have a customer for life out of me.
Why does linksys have the worst customer service ever?
I have now been on the phone with people from linksys over 20 times and the issues I've been having have not been resolved. Whenever I try to speak with someone they give me service timeframes that are unreasonable and never call back within the timeframes they suggest. I had the WRT3200ACM and it crapped out quite fantastically. Then I was given an EA9300 as the replacement router only to find that it regularly drops my connection and has speed issues. This occurs on different devices across my network and I am tired of dealing with people who have no idea what they are doing.
Linksys used to be a decent company, what happened?

Velop setup without Linksys account
Got my Velops in the mail today and used the LInksys app to set them up, which required I create a Linksys account, since my existing account would not work for some reason.
Well, I would prefer to have my router stay on my house and not phone home to Linksys. Is there some way to switch the router to connect local only and remve the Linksys account?
It's not that I don't trust Linksys. I just prefer to minimize attack vectors. I don't see any way to do this from within the Linksys app or from within the Web UI of the Velop itself.

This is the best selling TestoSup Xtreme. TestoSup Xtreme helps me see TestoSup Xtreme from another perspective. That's as slow as molasses. I know, let's look at that situation with TestoSup Xtreme. Perhaps I may not be dead wrong as it touches on that. That one is going to be a real tear jerker. That continues on forever and ever. But there's more… This column is going to explain, in basic English, how to get the most out of TestoSup Xtreme. That has brought me long-lasting pleasure. Let's get down to brass tacks. These are the concepts respecting TestoSup Xtreme.

There's a common mistake touching on TestoSup Xtreme and also I disagree with this. It is probably the biggest mistake of all. That was a day long meeting. That is how to manage your TestoSup Xtreme. How long have I been at TestoSup Xtreme? I've been as busy as a bear in a beehive. TestoSup Xtreme pertains to all sorts of TestoSup Xtreme. I'd guessed this would happen, but never dared dream this as that was the long and short of it. What's the issue here? Many want TestoSup Xtreme to be put in perspective. I suppose I still have many work to do with TestoSup Xtreme.

I thought I was making it more interesting than listening to me talk as that regards to TestoSup Xtreme. It's a lot harder to help other rookies who feel that TestoSup Xtreme may be worthwhile. In contrast, as we all remember, TestoSup Xtreme has an ability to gain TestoSup Xtreme. That's the question that this essay is going to ask in order that more or less, I went with that. This should be constructed from practical components. As expected, "Practice makes perfect." as much as if you want the answers to your TestoSup Xtreme questions, stick around.
IPv6 Pass through vs Automatic
Hi,
I've been having some problems with certain sites recently on my EA7500 system. Using some network tracing I found out all the affected sites are IPv6, and when it goes wrong the ACK message for SYN message is lost. Anyway, this is rather technical, but I found out that when I disable IPv6 all is fine. However I don't want to use this blunt force mechanism.
As a 2nd working option using IPv6 Pass-Through it also seems to solve the issue. My ISP supports IPv6 fine. In this context:
- What is the difference between IPv6 pass-through and 'automatic'. (I know what the third option PPPoE is).
- When I use IPv6 pass-through, will the IPv6 firewall still be active? If not pass-through seems not so safe for home usage.

AC5400 EA9500 2.4ghz not working
20 year loyal linksys customer here.
Last week I installed an AC5400 EA9500 v1.1 router.
Serial Number: REMOVED
MAC: 6038E07907DD
Model: EA9500 V1.1
Firmware: 1.1.7.180968
Purchased Nov 30, 2017
Installed Dec 11,2017
I am configuring from the app and from windows 10. Everything worked great. A few days ago in the morning, none of my devices could connect to the 2.4ghz network. After messing around with the admin console, I performed a power cycle. Everything worked.
The next morning, nothing can connect to the 2.4ghz. I have performed a power cycle, a soft reboot, a wait, a factory reset, etc. I keep getting Authentication errors. On the Samsung S7 phone, I see "Authentication error occurred." On Chromecast I see "GoogleCast could not connect to "SSID" - please check your Wi-Fi network name." Windows 10 shows "can't connect to this network." I am positive my SSID and password are correct (not funny characters mistakenly typed).
I have chaned the SSID, removed the need for a password, change from Auto to 20mhz width, changed to various channels, reset, etc. 2.4ghz will not work. 5ghz works, factory reset, .... Unfortunately, some devices can only connect of 2.4ghz.
The router is in the box ready to return. I sent a note to linksys support with details. Hoping to keep this router if a config can restore 2.4, or exchange it for one that works.
BTW, when it worked, the router was super fast with a great range for 3500 sq ft house.

EA 7500 Unable to get it to reset
I bought a certified refurbished EA7500 on Amazon back in early September to replace my aging EA4500. Just now getting around to installing the EA7500. When I plug in the EA7500 it just fast blinks. No wireless network shows up and I cannot connect to it wired. I have tried to reset it multiple times but nothing changes all i get is the fast blink. I have tried the 30-30-30 method nothing. It is almost as if the reset button is not working. Any suggestions. (Factory Refurb came with a 90 day warranty but I guess I am technically past that even thought I just now took it out of the box. I have contacted seller to see what if anything they can do if in fact it id DOA. If I cannot get it working, this will be my last Linksys.
Where's the KRACK updates for these routers!
Still waiting on the KRACK updates for the following routers.

How to limit internet access through WRT54G from just 3 mac addresses ?
I have a WRT54G and want to configure the access restrictions to ONLY allow internet access from JUST my 3 devices, via MAC address.
I created a policy, entered the 3 mac addresses, set to allow, and enabled the policy. I can still gain access from any device.
