WRT32x Feature Set

So I upgraded (sort of) from wrt3200acm to wrt32x. Much better network performance since upgrade. I think that my 3200 may have had some bad hardware in it, but that is not what I want to chat about. I am missing all the great features that I had in my 3200. Where is the ability to backup the config. I added over 40 static IP's, god forbid I loose these or the router is reset to factory. There is no back up config file to reload the router. 3200 had this. Where is all the granular capabilities that I had in my 3200. Linksys for almost 300$$ I want these features. Why would you make a gaming router, and then take away the ability to have parental controls? Someone made a mistake not putting that feature in the 32x. Essentially the router really should have all the administration capabilities that I had in my 3200. Give me back those options. Another issue, you can never edit your static IP's name because once you try to get to the list it continues to update it and scolls the list, so I cannot name all my devices that are in with static ip's, which is everything in my house with the exception of about 10 things. So this list is 40+. Maybe you did not plan on a user taking the time to static ip that many devices. Where is the Smart-WiFi I had so that I could get into my router when I was not home? Give me that back!! There is no smart phone app? Give me that back!!. I think you get my point. Happy Smiley Happy but Smiley Mad

Cisco 800 VPN Tunnel behind WRT1900ACS

My company provides a Cisco 800 series box to use as a hardware VPN for my work computer and phone. Recently they did a refresh of their device and I no longer can get the VPN light to come on my Cisco 800 series after it boots up. I called our tech support and they recommended a factory reset on the router and also putting the Cisco 800 behind DMZ but neither worked. Has anyone had issues like this with the WRT1900ACS v1?

VPN disconnections with EA7500 (firmware:2.0.4.184918)

I'm seeing the exact same problem as this thread with a EA7500 with the newer v2.0 firmware.

I don't have any DNS issues (and I tried flushing the DNS just in case), but it seems that everytime thruput picks up, my VPN drops (but my internet connection is still fine).

I really need a resolution or some advice to this ASAP or else I will have to return the router

EA8300 Max-Stream 2200 not getting full speed on 2.4 band

I got this router on Black Friday. Got it all hooked up and yes, the firmware is up to date. My issue is with the 2.4 band doesn't give me the full 60mbps I'm paying for. I try different speed tests while having my phone right next to the router and the most it shows I get is 40mbps(30-35 average). The weird thing is when I use the Linksys app and use the built in speed test it shows I'm getting the full 60 Mbps speed. The 5ghz band gives me full speed. I have also used different devices with the same results. Is there a fix to this? I'd hate to return this router. My old asus(non ac) gave me no speed problems before finally breaking.

EA6100 need settings for AP same SSID

My old Dlink (set up as an Access Point with the same SSID and password) broke and I now have a lniksys ea6100. This more modern smart router has a couple settings I am not familiar with.

1) Because I am not configuring this 6100 using the automated Bridge mode, because I want to use the same SSID and Password as my exisitng wirless DSL modem/router, what setting do I set for the EA6100 "Internet setting"?

2) I have turned DHCP off,  should aslo set NAT off?

3)Old DLINK had channle settings to avoid conflicts but I don't think the 6100 does.

The IP address I used on the Dlink was set to be outside of the main router dhcp range, so it was set to 192.168.2.2

As soon as I configure that in the EA6100 it no longer lets me into the 6100, using an ethernet cable connected direct.

WRT32X and XFINITY 1Gb Internet

Hello,

First off I want to say I'm certain this may not be an issue with this router specificaly but have tried multiple other routers with worse results.

I have the XFINITY 1Gb Internet Plan with DOCSIS3.1 using the SB8200 cable modem. I've replaced all cables with Shielded Cat6. It seems I am only ever able to get to about 400-500Mbps in download yet when directly connected to my modem I'm seeing 940Mbps on a consistant basis. Whenever a router is in play it seems to limit my speed at these lower rates.

I heard on specific Linksys routers they have 'Cut Through Forwarding' which bypasses a lot of security features to allow for these higher speeds. Is there a reason why this linksys router cannot achieve this?

I was thinking this one would work because of the lightweight platform. I'm tempted on building my own router to see if it changes anything. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Adding Killer Prioritization from the GPL site

Hey all,

So I'm looking at adding the Killer Prioritization Engine to a custom build of OpenWRT for the WRT3200ACM. I have the scripts downloaded from the GPL page in the source for the WRT32X. So here is my issue, in the ReadMe file, there are 3 scripts listed ./qdiscbr-lanscript.sh ./iptablesscript.sh and ./qdisceth0_on.sh. None of these files are located in krouter-scripts or in OpenWRT or LEDE anywhere.

I was wondering if the names of the scripts are incorrect, or if the ReadMe is quoting the names of an older compilation of the scripts. The scripts that are contained in krouter-scripts are firemark.sh, dhcp-hook.sh and qdisc_control.sh.

If someone in their wisdom can provide some insight to this that would be great. Also after inspecting the firmware for the 32X, the original names are not anywhere in there, but the names that I listed in that are in krouter-scripts are.

If the krouter-scripts names are the right names, what is the order to execute these scripts?

Thanks

A few questions about EA9500 v1.0 - including firmware & WIFI connection issue

$

I own the EA9500 router (the original version 1).  It is indeed the best one I ever had, at least since the legendary WRT54G from the last decade.   I do have a few questions.

1) It seems like the newest firmware for it is dated May 8, 2017 (version 1.1.7.180968).    Am I correct to assume that even wih this revision that this particular router is not being effected by the CRACK and BOTNET Vulnerability?

2) I am running my router's WIFI as Individual Networks (not steering) for reasons that I don't want to go into here.  The setups is such: 2.4Ghz Network for all PDA's / smart phones / PC's and 5Ghz #1 for TV #1 and I was planning to use 5Ghz #2 for TV#2.   But it seems that neither of the two brand new TV's (LG, 2017 models) are able to connected to 5Ghz #2 -- no matter what I tried.      But I know that the 5 Ghz #2 does work as I connected without problems by using one of my Samsung Phones as I was able to confirm via the "Network Map" that was indeed on the 5Ghz #2 channel (instead of the usual 2.4 Ghz connection).

So as of now, I have both of the TV's connected to 5Ghz #1.

All 3 of my WIFI networks are set as WPA2 Personal, network mode as MIXED, and the Channels for 5Ghz are set as

5Ghz #1: 36 - 5.180 GHz with channel width 80 MHz

5 Ghz #2 161 -5.805 GHz with channel width 80 MHz

What could be going on?  Am I missing something that prevents me in getting either of the TV's to connect to this "3rd network"?

3) Seeing in what I am trying to do in the above #2 question (splitting up the TV's to have each of them a separate 5GHz connection), is it really worthwhile?   Meaning if they are on the same 5Ghz network and both are streaming, or if they are on separate network and both streaming -- will it make any kind of a difference if both are streaming at the same time?

Thank you everyone for your insights!  I shall await your comments.

WRT3200ACM - Open VPN server

Hi,

I bought a brand new router WRT3200ACM and it is working perfectly. I do NOT have any issue with the wireless network as it is mentioned in many other posts.

However, I still have an issue with the Open VPN server. I am using Mac computers with Linux Ubuntu 17.10 with Gnome as GUI. I have installed all OpenVPN and Network manager packages for Gnome and when I try to import .ovpn file generated from the router, it is refused by Linux. I have checked already and it seems that the router is using a depricared authentication method.

I am using OpenVPN on the same computer with AirVPN or to connect to the office without issue.

Will there be a fix soon or do I have to install DD-WRT firmware.

Thank you for your help.

1900AC not detecting firmware update v2.0.8.183067...?

Hi all, My 1900AC (v2) is currently at firmware version 2.0.8.177401 (December 28, 2016), and does not "see" any available updates, either automatically or when I manually check. According to the site, firmware version 2.0.8.183067 was released on August 30 of this year, and yet my router does not register it. I suspect it will be a staggered roll-out, so am I just being too impatient? Thanks! Mongo

First of all, you have to know what the difference between TestoSup Xtreme and Body muscular building. We can't forget the past.

You can locate an informational DVD on TestoSup Xtreme to watch. That was a rare find. I'll give you a detailed explanation as it touches on why I'm trying this later. Unequivocally, by the time you're done reading that you'll know what TestoSup Xtreme is. I suppose you enjoyed my generous offer. You should be consistent and reveal TestoSup Xtreme to them in elementary procedures. I may have to give everyone a chance to voice their opinion.

Wireless Adaptor for WRT3200AMC

HI All,

I am an user of your WRT3200ACM in Hong Kong. Actually, I have been a diehard fans of Linksys since 2004 starting from WRT54G. Although there is the internet dropping issue makes me very unhappy, I still like this brand and waiting for the firmware solution.

Here I want to ask a question for the wireless receiver which can achieve the maximum speed of the WRT3200ACM. From the spec., it is a 3x3 MIMO router and the 160MHz channel can have 867Mbps x 3= 2.6Gbps in theory. However, I cannot find a wireless receiver which can use the 160MHz channel. Although Intel Wireless-AC 9560 adapter supports 160MHz, this is a 2x2 MIMO card ONLY and is targeted for notebook.

Currently I am using Asus PCE-AC88 PCIE wireless adaptor which is a 4x4 MIMO which can supports 433 x 4=1.732Gbps in theory. However, it is only shown 433 x 3=1.299 (1.3) Gbps in my Windows 10 connection. This is true that the WRT3200ACM supports tri-stream only. As the results, the only way to achieve your claimed speed is using the 160MHz channel wireless adaptor. So, when will Linksys release the 3x3 160MHz adaptor or any other options which can be ontained easily, such as Amazon?

Thanks for your help and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

    Yours Sincerely,

    rocketeerhk

Can you extend the amount of time a guest is connected?    I would like to extend it to 3 days before having to sign - in again..  I have guest that complain that they are constantly having to log back on each day and it kicks them out.  I think it kicks them off every 18 hours.. or so..  Can't see where to set this?
