linksys EA6900 v1.1 dhcp internet loss issue

Hi hope someone can help

 

I recently purchased a linksys ea6900 and found the wifi excellent.

 

However I am having issues where my wired connections loose DHCP and connection to the internet. I have to reset the router.

 

More annoying I was online talking to someone organising collections etc when I lost connection which is annoying.

 

Wifi seems to keep working and allow internet connection. Router says I have connection but when I try and connect to anything wired or to internet via wired devices i get DNS and DHCP issues and the only way to resolve it is to reboot the router.

 

My main PC is connected to a 16 port pro safe hub which is connected to the router. I have giving it a reserved IP to see if that solves the issue but it does not.

 

I have reset the router to factory default and tried reflashing the newest firmware .

 

Anyone know the issue as my other router was perfectly fine and I have had to use my old router for now. It is such a shame as the wifi signal from the ea6900 is excellent but the instability of loosing connection when you are talking online is unsatisfactory.

N750-EA3500 Router

Just bought this router and set it up yesterday. The router seems to get very warm even after being idol for 9 hours when no one was on a computer. The air holes are located on the bottom of the router with very little air flow because there's not much on it to raise it up. There's no way to stand the router up because the sides aren't flat.

Will this router end up overheating and going out?

EA-7500-WM (Partial WiFi connection, Ethernet fine)

Brand new (less than 2mos old) EA-7500-WM router - and today started experiencing some weird performance issues.

The default wifi gateway will not connect to any device in the residence.
The 5G wifi gateway connects just fine.
The wired ethernet connects just fine as well.

I have reset the modem - with no change in performance.

Anyone else experienced this issue?

WRT1200ac v1, flashing doesn't work at all

Hi, so I've got my router for a while now and in the beginning I was having trouble with the internet dropping alot in speed so I decided to get dd-wrt and installed it via the web browser , easliy enough. 

 

Now when i moved apartment i realized that the rooter booted up to the orginal linksy site again so I've tried to flash in both ddwrt and openwrt and even an older firmware without any luck. No error or anything, it router does it's thing and then it just boots back in to the original firmware (i've got the latest from linksy)

 

but what have happende for the router not be able to flash? I cant find anyone with the same problem.

Port 81 open on WRT54G wireless router

Hello,

 

I am securing my home network, and one thing I notice is that when checking from the internet side, is that port 81 is open on the routeur's IP address.  I am only forwarding  one different port for ssh through the router, and so I conclude that port 81 is used by Linksys as a backdoor to connect to the router.  Can you reassure me regarding the purpose of having this port open on the internet side. Is there any way I can close it?   Thanks.

Does wrt3200acm support Seamless Roaming or not?

When I choose Seamless Roaming to be included on  the router filters, wrt3200acm is considered one of the routers which support Seamless Roaming.

 

But when I open the introduction page of WRT3200ACM, It did not shows the router support Seamless Roaming.

 

So I want to know that Does wrt3200acm support Seamless Roaming just like other max-stream series routers

I can not get the router to open up ports.  I set up the port forwarding then I check the ports and they show that they are closed.  Any suggestions.  Trying to set up a Synology 916+ NAS VPN.

EA7500 Not working in Router Mode when forwarding to another router

So, when I have my EA7500 in router mode, and I'm NOT using the WAN port, it will not forward all communications to the default router (which is actually a very secure and very capable firewall).  I also do not use the DHCP on the EA7500, because I have a much more secure DHCP server on my network.

 

I setup the default gateway, etc.  But, traffic does not get to the Internet.  I'm sure there is a setting I'm missing, but what is it?  I would think that by default, if the router had a default gateway assigned to it, it would forward all traffic to that default gateway (except in the case of when the traffic is local, of course).   But it doesn't.

 

Any ideas out there?

EA6400 drops connections momentarily. Large file Downloads broken

latest firmware EA6400.

 

If I connect with ethernet to download a 4gb file, it will download 2gb, and then drop out.

Occasionally it can pick up again, but often, the download won't recover itself.

See bandwidth graph below.... that big dip.

 

I'm maxing out my internet connection at 120mbps, and as soon as it hits 2gb, the router stops transferring data like it's exhausted.

 

This broken download keeps happening. I can't get it to complete.

 

I also tried it on different computers, same result. Ethernet ports just suddenly stop transferring data. However, internet connection is not lost. I can still browse.

It's only that one download that stops transferring.

 

If I connect directly to the modem, I can download the whole 4gb file.

Also, I have more success over wifi connection, and was able to complete download with wifi.

But still, I want to address malfunctioning ethernet.

Unstable WiFi EA8500

Over the last month, i've had very unstable WiFi.  The connections get so bad that devices give up and drop the WiFi and I need to reset the WiFi on the router to get things connected again.

 

I've just split the 5G to it's own APN as it looks like it keeps dropping in and out when using WiFi analyzer.

 

Anything else to try?

LINKSYS E1200V2 WIRELESS ISSUE

My company is using LINKSYS E1200V2 router for past many years as both wireless and wired connections and DHCP.

 

Router Name DD-WRT Router Model Linksys E1200 v2

Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) mega - build 21061

Kernel Version Linux 2.6.24.111 #14331 Mon Mar 25 04:10:2

 

For the past 2 days am experiencing a problem in Wireless . The ping to internet goes high (1000ms+) in certain seconds/minutes and becomes normal 100-200ms range) or gives timeout in between some pings or it remains high until i restart modem this keeps repeating. In the wired connections through switches the ping is 100-170ms and its fine and steady Please check the attached images where the speed gets dropped in a minute in the wireless status page of modem, Ping image etc....The rate in the wireless status page keeps dropping from 108Mps to 58Mbps to 20Mbps to 5.0 etc and keeps increasing

New PC slow wireless

I have a Linksys EA7500 AC1900 router that worked fine with my last Windows pc which had a slower network card. My new Windows pc is AC and I'm getting significant delays in loading web pages and I've tried several different browsers. The wifi connection with my iPad is fast and unaffected. I thought I would try a direct Ethernet connection and wow is it speedy. What could be the problem with router connection to this new pc? Do I need to change setting?

 can we get aes-256-cbc with the openvpn server?  i heard bf-cbc is less secure.

 

i tried to add "cipher aes-256-cbc" to the config file, but then i would get "tun write error: cannot identify ip version for prefix"

WRT3200ACM SMB share problem on macOS

Dear All,


After connecting SMB share on macOS Sierra (10.12.5) there’s only 103,6 MB of free disk space available. And the hard drive is 1TB so there has to be more free disk space on it.
I’ve connected through FTP and I could upload some big files so it’s not a problem with no free disk space.

I’ve tried different disk configuration connected to router (MBR, GPT, NTFS i HFS+) – on each there’s a problem with available free space through SMB. On Windows SMB share works fine.

 

It’s the WRT3200ACM router.
I’ve checked it on firmware 1.0.5.176416 and the last one - 1.0.6.181063

 

What’s more – I have other SMB shares from other systems and I’ve never had such problems.

WRT 1900 AC wifi not working

I got this new wifi dual band router 2 months ago.  Set it up and worked great until a few days ago.  It started to reboot and slow down.  Then my Mac and other wireless devices no longer saw the wifi signal, even though the lights on the router were lit up for both 2.4 and 5GHz wifi.  I am the biggest novice at this stuff.  I followed instructions on web to "reset".  Tried the 10 second version with no luck then did the 30 second version again with no luck.  Now the wifi lights on the router no longer light up and I am not getting a wifi signal. 

 

I would be grateful for any help/ideas on how to get wifi up and running.  Thanks.
