Hi, so I'm trying to setup OpenVPN on my Wrt3200acm. I'm completely new to this and have no idea what I'm doing. Im following the directions here http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=157327 and I'm confused about the IP address/DNS Name part. So from what I gather, I'll need a DNS Name since my ip is not static. I'm trying to use DuckDNS as my dynamic DNS. However, how does it update my IP address? If I just put in my DuckDNS address, will it automatically update? Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks!

WRT 1900 AC and not being able to print from 5 GB Mac MacOS 10.12.5 to 2.4 GB Epson XP-860 printer
Have a new Epson XP-860 printer that I just got and setup this week, downloaded and installed latest Mac drivers, and, every few hours the printer drops off from the Mac being able to see it or ping it, but, the printer still sees the network. Both SID and password are same for both bands, I have the printer IP address reserved, and I have a laser printer on 2.4 GB band that is rock-solid.
Rebooted printer, Mac, and router a few times, but, doesn't make it work. Finally nuked the printer settings, and used the Epson setup again to install the printer again. Worked for a few hours, then got the communication error again...
I called Epson support, and they told me that the problem is that the Mac and printer are on the two different wireless bands...which sounds like **bleep** to me, as I've NEVER heard or seen that two wireless bands on same router can't talk to each other.
Any ideas on what could be going on, causing the printer to keep disappearing from the Mac?
I do have Norton Security on the Mac, but, don't see any warnings from firewall about any blocking going on.

EA8500 and VP video quality
Hello-
first some info.
we have a ea8500 wireless router- connected to this router are the following-
- windows PC- via ethernet to router
- Mac desktop- via ethernet to router
- HP printer via wireless 2.4 GhZ
- Android phone - wireless 2.4 GhZ
- iPad- wireless 5.0 GhZ (though I may swap this and android around).
- various othe mobile devices from time to time visiting
- Z70 device* via ethernet.
* The Z70 is like a VP phone - or actually IS. It is provided through ZVRS which is a relay service used by deaf people. A deaf person enters a phone number they want to call, it gets routed to a call center where a sign language interpreter sits. The interpreter initiates the call. When the call is active the interpreter signs everything the other person is saying to the caller. (the Deaf person either can sign back and interpreter voices back or can voice for themselves). The reverse is also true. Someone calling the deaf person will get routed through the interpreter center. The Z70 also works for P2P calls if both parties are deaf, In both instances I see a video of the other person signing.
With that out of the way (sorry)- I am finding that the video on the Z70 is less than stellar quality- I don't know why...sometimes it's OK and clear but more often the video does become choppy where it looks like it is breaking up- would do it for a few seconds then stop then start again. That happened yesterday while on a VRS call with a recruiter. Now...on the PC video quality is great- awesome- I watch Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix on a regular basis. Sometimes videos on FaceBook (the issue with FB is a whole other story and not related hmph). I don't usually watch videos longer than 5 minutes on either of my mobile devices. I haven't heard any complaints from the person who uses the Mac either.
My question-- is there any way maybe that I can set the Z70 device to 5.0 GhZ? I could set it as wireless but I am told it is better to have it connected directly. Would it improve if I connect it directly to the cable modem? Are there any settings on the router that I can change to help the video improve? The speed of U/D is very very good and never have an issue with that at all (in fact it's super fast- Time Warner/Spectrum.

EA9500 and LGS318 Smart Switch Incompatibility
My server and all of my computers will not see the Internet when my LGS318 Smart Switch is the only device between my computers and my one day old EA9500 router. If i connect a single computer to a gigabit Ethernet port, I can access the internet. When the computers are plugged into the LGS318 switch, they can ping each other and transfer files, but cannot get out to the Internet. Wireless devices work without any issues. Anyone having similar issues please advise if you have a solution. One note, I will be udating the firmware on the LGS318 to see if that cures the issue.

EA8500 Speed drop
Help. I've installed my new EA8500 router but the download speeds I'm getting (wired and wirless) are 1/3 of when I connect directly to my modem (3mps compared to 10mps). Do I have someonthing incorretly conrigured.

wrt1900acsv2 unexpectedly rebooting
I bought refurbished wrt1900acs v2 on amazon. After week of work router is hung. I restart him by power, he is work normal, but next day i was copy lot of photos from my laptop to Seagate Backup drive, connected to router by USB3.0. During coping router is hung and reboot after several minutes of coping.
Is there any solution from this problem?

CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO ADD A VPN TO MY EA7300 ROUTER :(
So I'm trying to add my VPN to my EA7300 and I can't find any info here at all and what little I found on Google all it said was to have my settings for the VPN pass through enabled of which it is...so I don't know what to do after that? I don't see anywhere where I can change anything like my location etc. Can anyone tell me how to setup a VPN to my EA7300 please? I'd totally appreciate it.

WRT 3200ACM - Wireless Scheduler
Can I schedule my 2.4 ghz and 5ghz to turn off at different times?
I'd like to shut of the 2.4 (kids network) after hours and keep the 5ghz running all of the time.
Any other ideas beyond per deivce? Can I group devices?

EA7300 leaving ports 80 and 21 open?
Hi. When I use GRC.COM Shields Up port scan, it is showing ports 80 and 21 "open". Also, the vast majority of ports are "closed" with only a very few shown as "stealth." Why are these two ports open? And why hasn't the firewall "stealthed" them all? Thanks!

WRT1900AC VPN filtering
OpenVPN is set up and I can connect to my LAN. However, it seems that only certain protocols are allowed. I can't seem to ftp over the VPN to the LAN.
The VPN network is on a completely different subnet than the LAN, which is a good thing, but only as long as I have the control to get traffic I need to pass between them.
Are there settings somewhere that allow access between the two networks?
OpenWRT is not an option, sadly.

New PC slow wireless
I have a Linksys EA7500 AC1900 router that worked fine with my last Windows pc which had a slower network card. My new Windows pc is AC and I'm getting significant delays in loading web pages and I've tried several different browsers. The wifi connection with my iPad is fast and unaffected. I thought I would try a direct Ethernet connection and wow is it speedy. What could be the problem with router connection to this new pc? Do I need to change setting?

can we get aes-256-cbc with the openvpn server? i heard bf-cbc is less secure.
i tried to add "cipher aes-256-cbc" to the config file, but then i would get "tun write error: cannot identify ip version for prefix"

EA9500 Unable to login to administer using direct or smartwifi
I beleive there was a message regarding mantienance this wekeend so perhaps that is the main issue.
When i direct a browser to my router IP ( wired OS X system ) - I am prompted for my Linksys password - and after a very long wait I get a mesage that my router is not conencted to the internet - the very same internet which I am using to type this message.
I rebooted the device and was able to get in breifly but I could not get any where as pages which had the confirm changes dialog were popping up but then not repsonding to any input but cancel.
Cloud access is nifty and useful - but I don't see why I cannot login to my router directly when on the same network using a simple admin/password.
I've only had the unit a coupel days and it is a replacement for a unit that falied after its first 24 hours installed - so I hope I don't have another problem - in that case it was rebooting itself every few minutes and factory resetting itself spontaneosuly.
So far the replaement has been good - and it is functioning - and I was able to login to int numerous times before today but now it won't connect.
The iOS app wont either - and I did get an alert that it went offline when I rebooted it - so why can't I login to the admin interface?

I configuring DHCP protocol and use reserve DHCP to organize my home rooms.
I use in my internal network: 10.10.10.x / 255.255.255.0
The problem is that in next IP 10.10.10.20 say that "invalid ip", why?

EA6900 won't save Downstream Bandwidth rate??
My ultimate goal is to set a the downstream bandwidth limit to 3000 Mbps. Every time I enter it in, it accepts the value, but then when I click 'Settings' to verify, it shows 0.
I thought that perhaps there weren't any devices to allocate the media prioritization to, so I drapped my laptop's ID from the 'Normal' section, up to the top, and perform the same actions to set the limit to 3000----same behaviour---would not save.
Any ideas?

EA6400 router blocks remote computer's netbios port 137-139, 445
I am trying to access a netbios network share on a remote computer over the internet.
My EA6400 is blocking my OUTBOUND connection to port 139 on the remote computer.
Even if I disable the router firewall, I still can't connect.
If I remove the router altogether and connect directly to my modem, I can connect to remote computer port 139.
Why is the router blocking access to the remote computer's port?
How do I get around this?

EA4500 vs EA6300&EA6500 bridge problem
hi,
i have main router of EA4500(192.168.1.1)
and
EA6500 (bridge mode, ip 192.168.1.2)
EA6300(bridge mode,ip 192.168.1.3)
E1200(bridge mode,ip 192.168.1.4)
TP-Link(bridge mode,ip 192.168.1.5)
Apple airport express(bridge mode,ip 192.168.1.6)
all routers work fine except EA6300 and EA6500.
the problem is: when my device is connected to EA6300(192.168.1.3), i cannot access EA6500(192.168.1.2), but i can access to any other router i want. and the same thing happen when my device is connected to EA6500.
if my device is connected to other router(TP-link,or E1200,Apple), i can have access all ip.
then i checked main router which is EA4500's devices list, the funny thing is the EA4500 seems get very confused with EA6300/EA6500, sometimes assign the wrong name to their ip addresses.( 192.168.1.2 with name of EA6300,etc)
does anyone knows about this? or it's just firmware bugs?
