WOL/Magic Packet Not working with new EA9200

I just replaced an Cisco E4200 with a LinkSys EA9200. I transfered all the port forwarding and other settings and everything appears to be working except that a desktop that is hard wire connected to the router no longer appears to be getting Magic Packets sent to it over the internet.  The packet ispassed fine interenally.   The computer is static mapped and I have double checked the port and addressing informatuion on the new EA9200 and it is all correct -- it is just not working.  The EA9200 has the latest firmware.

Ideas?

Just setup my new EA6500. It disconnects when running the speed test. Also, disconnects every 3 minutes. I turned off the 5 ghz and the disconnects stopped. I installed the latest firmware manually. I have reset the router using the software.

WRT320N firmware update?

$

Hi new to this forum. As far as I know we have never updated our Linksys WRT320N router. Since purchasing a new Samsung Smart TV, I have had issues with streaming videos freezing up or telling me we are not connected. So I recently bought a new modem and paid for one level up on the Internet speed. Still having the same issues. So I tried to update the firmware on the router and noticed it only offered a 1.0 version. We are currently running a 1.1. So how is it the so called newer version looks older? Should we just junk this router and get another one? Your input is greatly appreciated.

What is a unexpected error 2210, and how do I solve it.

Frankly.... I hate this router.

After having duplicate DNS names, and other assorted issues, I decided to reset to factory.

Great idea Chadster..... now what?

After entering about 50 names, ip addresses, and MAC addresess...  I click save, and get a nasty error.

(how can I be happy?)

How to solve an unexpected error 2210?

Maybe pack it back in the pretty box and sell it on ebay.

err_connection_reset on WiFi router

The subject wasn't the clearest I'm sorry but I'm going to explain it here.
What's happening is when I try to goto like a download link I will get a error_connection_reset yet some websites still work. Also when I try to apt-get install any package on my server it says connection failed. This happened on my last router too which was a cheap belkin one. I though getting a 60$ dual band one would be nice and would fix my problem but it only worked good for about half a day (I bought it yesterday). But now everything doesn't work again. And when I try to use Facebook etc it won't load. Not even YouTube. Yet Google and this will. It happens mostly on http sites. My server is port forwarded 80 for apache 21 for ftp 22 for ssh and some more for various services I run on my server. When I directly connect my server to my modem I don't get this problem. Sometimes I could make it work on my old router by forcing it to reassign new local IPs to my devices but still nothing. Please help! I have excede internet with a viasat modem. Thx

x3500 WifI Router Lockups - latest firmware

After quite a while of satisfactory service my x3500 will lock up on all bar ethernet switching.  I can ping my NAS across the network but can no longer access the admin.

Internet connectivity is lost - DSL light stays up but no traffic activity.  A reboot will cure but is really annoying.

Normal first thing to do is to upgrade firmware : this is what it is running

v1.0.01 build 002 Oct 21, 2013

http://www.linksys.com/pl/support-product?rnId=01t80000003prgiAAA

Nothing listed on product support page.

Frankly I only bought this model q3 2014 and I am surprised at date of firmware.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Can't connect to Airprint printer with E2500 router

My old Linksys WRT54G2 died a few days ago and I picked up a Linksys E2500. I got it up and running pretty easily, with everything working fine except being able to Airprint to my Brother  HL-L2340D laser printer (Airprint compatible). All devices are running the latest firmware and OS.

The old WRT54G2 didn't give me any issues, but now I can't even see the printer from my iPhone. I'm able to connect to the printer via Wi-Fi from my Windows machines without any issues, so I know wi-fi on the printer is working. The Airprint service on the printer is enabled.

Cascading 3 Routers

Hello,

I want to have network ports and strong wifi on all levels of a multi-level home.  I was thinking the best approach would be to cascade multiple Linksys WRT1900AC routers.

I know how to cascade two routers, but what about 3?  For the third, do I connect it to the First (Main) router or to the second router?

If anybody has any experience with this I would really appreciate the guidance.

Thank You!

new purchase router

Hi

I would like to change my router at home for better stability, bandwidth and feature

Basically this is what I have for devices (not using all at once)

3 Laptops

2 Wireless printers

2 Phones

1 IPod

2 Tablets

Home theatre

and

Streaming like Netflix and a lot of YouTube video (haaa teenagers )

A nice family with teenagers and FRIENDSSSSSSS (loll)

Major point I am looking for

 -Multiple connections

-Good range, (house, garage and backward)

-IMPORTANT, able to disable and enable connection to a specific device easily. (From phone or tablet from a distance)

-Multiple connections (Home, guest and other) with all passwords

-Warning when approaching a bandwidth max (ex: max 50gig, warning at 40gig)

It’s possible I am missing some major point for now for future needs, if you have suggestion please go for it

So what do you suggest as type Linksys of router?

Also, I know that Linksys as software do manage your connection and other feature, is this free?

Thank you for you time

Determining HW version of a WRT1900AC from its serial number

$

Is it possible to determine a WRT1900AC hardware version without examining the label on the bottom of the device?

In particular, can the HW version be determined from the serial number, which prints out from the router configuration web page via "Troubleshooting > Status > Report" (but the report does not explicitly give the router HW version)?

Alternatively, since the configuration web page shows the router as "WRT1900AC," both at the top-right of the page and as the model when the router icon is clicked in the "Network Map," should it be assumed that the HW version is 1.0?

EA3500 FTP Remote Access Setup

I love my new EA3500 router. It's rad.

But the one thing I'm still struggling with is setting up FTP access to the USB drive I stuck in the back of it.

While at home, I can access it at ftp://10.0.0.x:21with no issues at all.

However, I don't know where to begin accessing it over the internet with my public ip.

The manual doesn't instruct you what address to type into your browser to do this.

And, I have very little understanding of internet protocols, ip addresses, or whatever.

All I want is a straight-forward answer as to what to type into Firefox to access my USB stick

in back of the EA3500 with FTP via the internet from anywhere (not just home)

Example solution: ftp://74:22:156:165/LinksysSSID/port#?

                                             (public ip)    (server name?)

I'm so lost.

I have all my information ready (public ip, server name(apparently my ssid), etc)

Just the need magic "formula" to type into my browser to access that USB.

Thanks in advance from your friendly neighborhood noob.

EA2700 constantly rebooting dropping all connections

$

Hi,

I have a Linksys EA2700 connected through the WAN port to my modem.

Every few hours, all my connected devices drop the connection, including wired and wireless devices connected to wi-fi, because the router rebooted itself.

If I connect  my PC directly to the modem, the issue doesn't occur. I can remain connected for days, consistently.

I've already tested factory resetting the router, testing with the latest drivers too, and the issue isn't fixed.

By dropping the connection I mean that the router reboots itself. I lose my IP address, and I can't contact the DHCP server in the router, for about 3 minutes. Then it fixes itself automatically.

I've read that this issue is posted several times in the forums, but no real workaround has been posted.

A ping trace is out of the question. The connection works flawlessly, except when the rouer is down for those 3 minutes very hour or so. And I can't ping if I don't have an IP address.

I've tested disabling DHCP and using the DHCP provided from my modem, but the issue persists. The router reboots itself.

I have 2 personal computers connected directly, and up to 5 wireless devices connected to the router simultaneously.

If I connect more devices at once to the router it doesn't force a crash. The same if I limit the amount of connected devices. It happens constantly.

There are no packet drops in-between reboots.

I can't connect to the router admin page while it is rebooting, and I can't force to connect before those 3 minutes by disabling/enabling DHCP, or trying to force a connect through wi-fi.

The configured SSID stops broadcasting too, until the reboot cycle finishes.
