I have no Internet. Can somebody tell me what is wrong. Let me know what info you need and I'll provide it.
I just setup my new WRT1900AC yesterday, luv it so far. Then I realized there were no VPN settings anywhere
I did a Google search and I guess I totally missed the spot in all the reviews where they mention it has no VPN support from Linksys.
This is an absolute must for me. Is this a feature that is going to be added in the near future, or should I just return it for now?
I read that the open-source firmware may support it but those firmwares are very new and just barely getting functional let alone mature.
I'd like to hear what my options are, thanks!
I bought this to replace my 7yr old Cisco WRVS4400N. What about disabling the WiFi on that and putting it behind the modem in front of the WRT1900AC? How will that affect my internet speed, latency, etc?

I came across the new firmware for the EA4200v2 and EA4500 routers and I'm baffled by what the heck "Complies with 2015 CE standard requirements" means.
Release Date: December 18, 2014
Firmware version: 2.1.41 (Build 164606)
- Complies with 2015 CE standard requirements
- Additional security to protect unauthorized access to router log files
When I connect the mobile phone to wi-fi - the browser works fine, speed test shows excellent speed. But if you use any application - google play, facebook etc. all loads very slowly. Also can not send emails. I've tried everything - factory reset, disable security, сhange router DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but no result. This problem occurs in the 5 and 2.4 GHz network. In the guest network everything is fine. How to fix it? About a year everything worked fine
Just configuring new EA3500 and can't get the 5.8 network to display on either of my two N-adapter laptops. I've read a few other posts that mention reseting the device and have tried that a few times. No luck. Each laptop only sees the 2.4 network. I gave each network unique names and set the SSID to broadcast. Am I missing something?

I bought a new wireless router (N300) because my old one took a dive, I got the new one going but when I use IE from my PC's its very very slow, however using Firefox the connection is normal speed. I'm wondering why only IE would be affected? Any ideas on this odd issue?
Hi,
I appear to have made a mistake in buying a WUSB6300. Following the setup instructions (from the accompanying disc) I inserted the usb stick into several of my computer's USB ports, but it wasn't detected in any of them.
I know that my computer doesn't have USB 3.0, but had understood the stick was backwards compatible with 2.0, which I have.
In any event, the stick cannot be recognised.
Also disappointed it doesn't come with a cradle. I assumed, at this price, that it would. But nothing to be done about that.
Any help with the above would be welcome.

Hi there
My Wrt1900AC seems to have lost the 2.4GHZ signal.
It worked fine for the first few days but the 2.4ghz led on the router is turned of and my devices cannot detect the signal.
I have the latest firmware installed and the 5ghz works fine.
The 2.4ghz had a slow dead where is able to turn it on again by changing the configuration in the router, switching
back and forth between WEP and WPA2 but now the 2.4ghz is completely dead. I've spend 2 days now trying
to get it back online but is unable to.
The rest of the router works fine.
Hello,
I have a 3 story house and my router is centrally located on the top floor. I was wondering if there are suggestions as to how to point the antennas to hopefully increase my signal in the basement? It's good now, but I was wondering if there is a way to make it stronger by adjusting the antennas.
I asked the click to chat and they seemed somewhat clueless and were reading from their scripts. Other than "our antennas support beam forming" and a link that showed me how to plug them into the back of the router, no luck.
Anyone have any tips?
Hello,
I have an EA4500 setup in our office. We have about 20 wired/wireless devices and we rely heavily on VoIP. I have QoS enabled on the router for our voice as well as port triggering per the companys instructions. We have a 10/10 line.
The problem is that we have random ping spikes on both wireless and wired. It will be running fine in the 20-30-40 range and then a random spike of 300-400 or even 500. Sometimes it is just one ping that is high and then sometimes there is a small cluster. I am pinging google.com
Any ideas? The high ping times really effect our voip quality.
I have a HD plugged into my WRT1900AC router though the eSata port. The HD currently does not have the correct format and must be reformatted.
Can I do this from my PC through the router ?
I just bought a Nintendo 3DSXL for my son and set it up to connect to the internet, but it didn't work. Other devices such as iPhone, Tablet and Laptop work well with our router - Linksys E1200, except LeapPad Ultra - a Learning toy from Leapfrog. What should I do to make it work for our Nintendo 3DS XL and LeapPad Ultra? Thanks a lot.
Hello,
First thanks for your help. When connecting to my modem (wired connection) I got 30Mbps as expected but connecting to the EA6700 router (always with wired connection) it goes to the max speed of 20Mbps only, The router was setup with category Mixed G and N. I have tried also with G only or N only, but still have the same result. Do I miss any parameter to get the router to go up to more than 20 Mbps? Thanks.
Ricky.
Hi,
I am using a Linksys EA6500 router, with a Linksys E4200 wired in series for additional ethernet connectivity to my cable modem. I also have a wireless bridge (switch) wirelessly connected to the EA6500 network, and have a computer (let's call it Slave) hardwired to the bridge. It enables me to have ethernet connectivity on the other side of the room, without stringing a cable around the woodwork. There may be other ways, but this works great and gives me Gbit connection speed on what used to be a 300 MBit wireless connection.
I have discovered two issues, that I can't explain, so I am soliciting some input.
1. On my master computer, the one hardwired to the EA6500, the connected network name (on the Network and Sharing Center page) shows up as 'Linksys' (I assume the default router name), but on the 'slave' computer, the connected network name shows up as 'Home' the wireless network name. The two computers show that they are connected to the same network, but they each show a different name for that network. This leads to my next issue.
2. I have allowed network sharing (completely) on both computers (Master and Slave (just names, no implied hierarchy)). The Slave can open files on the Master and manipulate them, but when I try to even 'see' files on the Slave (from the Master), it syas the 'user has not been granted the required logon type at this computer'. The slave shows up as a computer name on the Master's network connections, but the slave won't let the Master access files. Both computers are running 8.1, and every file sharing option that I can find is set identical on both machines; but one can access the other, and not vice-versa.
Any thoughts,
Thanks,
Tunes
I have a small home network with the E8350 (AC2400) and an ActionTec modem PK5001A from Centurylink. I needed to put the router in bridge mode to allow the NAT in the modem to function properly. Turning off just the NAT in the E8350 broe the network. Once I placed the E8350 in bridge mode I lost connectivity via 192.168.1.1. The network appears to function properly, I just can't remotely access the router. Is this normal or is there another setting I'm missing?
I am wondering if I can connect my Linksys E2500 to the wireless internet signal coming from my fiber op router. I want to boost the signal in my house using my own E2500. Will it do this wirelessly and if so, how can I set that up? Any help would be so appreciated!
Hello, complete noob concerning routers. Never had any problems, really, just plug and play.
I just purchased a Motorola SB6141 modem to take advantage of Cox "double your speed" with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. I'm getting 60-65 mbps if I connect my PC directly to the modem. Connecting my PC to the router with a cat 5 cable I'm only seeing about 20. On my wife's laptop wireless it show's 22-23.
I did update my firmware to version 1.0.05 and tried a few things that I've read in these forums, but no improvement so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hey everyone,
My internet's been REALLY slow for a couple of weeks. I've isolated the problem to my LinkSys E3000. My bandwidth is fine, but the response times are miserable.
When I reset it and ping Google, I'll get 20-30ms for maybe 30 to 60 seconds and then it'll jump to 700-900ms response times. If I wire into my modem, I get the 20-30ms response times.
I'm running the latest firmware: 1.0.06
I've tried:
-resetting to factory defaults
-using Wireless-N only on both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz individually (shutting the other off)
-selecting various different channels and selecting auto for both
-using WPA/WPA2 mixed as well as strictly WPA2 Personal
I'm at a loss....
Thanks for any help!
Matt
I have been experiencing this issue for quite some time now.
Ever since ive upgraded the firmware to the smart wifi one
every device connected to my router (ipad, laptop by lan cable etc)
randomly gets disconnected and then reconnects after 2-3 mins
Its frustrating to keep experiencing this and i cant find a solid solution online
If this still persists, im considering downgrading the firmware to the old one
looking for experts asap.
Thanks in advance
