WRT310Nv2 loosing WIFI randomly

For the last couple of months my WRT310Nv2 has been loosing WIFI randomly on all devices (rather laptop or smart phone). it will randomly drop for about 1 to 2 minutes then reconnect without issue.

 

There have been changes in the environment, and the device can be at any distance away from the router. I have power cycled the router several times and have checked all settings. The router is sitting on a metal shelf on my desk but even before the shelf was added as a way to the router higher off the desk it was still dropping WIFI.

 

This is happening on N and G devices. When WIFI is connected I have full service and good speeds. There have been no additional WIFI signals showing up when I have looked at the wireless connections.

 

All wired connections stay connected without dropping out. It happens throughout the day/night so there is no real time span in which it seems to happen.

 

I have the most current (for that model) firmware.

 

Any ideas on what would cause this or what areas I should look at to troubleshoot?

 

I am using WEP and manually configured WIFI not Wifi protected setup.

 

Basic settings-

channel: Auto

SID Broadcast: on

 

Advanced settings-

Ap Iso: off

Frame burst: on

Auth Type: Auto

Trans rate: Auto

N Trans rate: auto

CTS: auto

Beacon: 600 (was 100 until two days when I adjusted to test)

DTIM: 1

Frag Limit: 2346

RTS: 2347

 

Wireless Status-


  Mode: Mixed
  Channel Width: 40MHz only 
  Channel: 1 
  Security: WEP 
  SSID Broadcast: Enabled

Can you tell me what router might have these features:

 

- records the total amount of time each connected device spends on the internet each day.  There would need to be a report that could be accessed.

 

- limits the total time connected to under 2 hours a day.  Most routers can set limits when people can't access the internet (ie. no access from midnight to 6 am), but I would prefer a duration limit per day.

 

- also, I would like the router to track and record the websites visited.  We run our browsers in a sandbox for increased web security.  The downside is that once the sand box is deleted, there is no record of where my kids have been.

WRT610N wireless keeps disconnecting + Need Firmware info?

My Linksys WRT610N recently started having the issue of continuosly disconnecting the wireless connection every 30 seconds or so. I did a power recycle but that did not help.

 

The router's firmware version is 2.00.00 B50 . I tried searching for the latest firmware on the linksys site but I get to is 88MB download package for installation which doesn't even indicate if the Firmware file is part of the package and what the firmware version is in the package. I'm not sure why it is difficult to find this very simple inforation.

 

If anyone can point me to solution for the constant wireless disconnections and also what the latest firmware is for the WRT610N and whare I can find it, I would really appreciate it.

EA 4500 - Port Forwarding Blocked from time to time

I have my 4500 set up for Port Range Forwarding to enable access to a DVR.  I use two ports one for TCP and One for the Internet.

TCP is 9010 and Internet is 8245. I set up the range to start and end on that port--ie  9010 to 9010.

 

the system worked well for about a year but lately i can't connect to the DVR occasionally.  Rebooting the 4500 solves the problem until it happens again.

 

Looking for ideas as to what may be causing it. and how to permanantly fix.

PC not visible in device list, but does work

Lookint at the device list on my ea4500 I noticed my laptop is not listed. Everything works fine. Just woondering why it would not be there?

How to copy exact settings / IP reservations / passwords etc from one router to other

Hi everyone,

 I'm using EA4200 for around 1.5 years now. It has buttons as "save configuration" and "restore configuration", which I'm assuming can be used to mirror exact settigs and config of EA4200 to other router.

 I bought EA6700 few days back (I was considering Asus but  bought Linksys just cause I thought it would be easier to move settings).

 However now that I look at EA6700 Administration menu, I don't see any "save" "restore" similar buttons.

 

 So I would like to know if there is a way to easily migrate from one router to other. (In this case both are Linksys).

I have multiple device; with Mac address 00:00:00:00:00 showing up in my router; I have a opened case with Belkin, no response, I have sent in Screen shoots, Diagnostics; no response.

 

Running FW 1.1.40

 

All I can say is WOW...

E4200 Connection issues with two Samsung Blu-ray players at a time

Hi everybody,

Sorry about my English,

 

I have E4200 V1 router, it is working fine, and I am connecting different type of devices with it like desktop computer, laptop, iphone, printer and two Samsung 3d smart Blu-ray players. Everything is working fine. I have charter cable internet.

 

But the problem is this: when I play movies via Netflix on both Samsung Blu-ray players (one player is in my family room and second player is in up stare bedroom) one player stopped playing movie and disconnected from the wireless network and message shows (check your wireless network).

 

When I stopped/turn OFF the second Blu-ray player, then the first one got connected with network and start playing movies.

 

I can’t run both Blu-ray players at the same time on this E4200. When I was playing both players at that time all the other devices I mentioned above was connected with the same network but were not performing any task, those were in sleeping mode.

 

I also changed the QoS, Quality of Service setting to high priority using MAC address for both players, but it is still not playing both Blu-ray players at the same time. Just one plays the movies at a time.

 

Any idea or help to solve this issue, I would really appreciate that.

Linksys EA6500 Router Blinking Light

My linksys EA6500 router light in the front is blinking and I don't get any wifi. I try to do the setup but it keeps telling me to connect the PC to the router with the cable but it's already plugged in. I don't know what to do. Help?

EA6900 not working with PPPoE.

Hi all,

 

I've just bought a Linksys router EA6900 and I can't connect to internet using PPPoE. The user name is without "@" it is a simple number like "IS234324234".

I suppose that the connection is not OK because I got no IPv4 address. Any ideea what could be wrong?

E1200 not working after factory defaults

After getting a E1200 router a few years ago i have reset the router many times, but during my most recent reset the internet only works on the computer that i set up the wireless from in the first place. it seems that the only computer that i cannot access 192.168.1.1 is the computer that the wireless works on. everytime i try to access the setup page on either my phone or another  computer a note pops up and tells me that if i access this page internet may not work on my computer. i have tried everything that i could in the settings but nothing seems to work can someone help?

Issues with Wireless and other issues... on EA4500

I'm having all sorts of problems with the wireless on my EA4500 router.  

 

1. Devices say they are connected to the network but frequently drop wireless network... hardwired devices can still access the internet so it is not my ISP.  This includes my printer, phones, googleTV but not my laptops or Panasonic TV so this is quite confusing. 

 

2.  Devices aren't being shown on my windows network map so I can stream DLNA media to them.  Specifically the Xbox One will not show up but my 360 will. (both connected wirelessly)  I can confirm that it is connected to the network and can play online but that is it.  I tried turning off each of the 2.4 and 5.4 networks and the only thing that changed was that my bandwith was terribly low on the 5.4 while the other was off and my network now showed a strict  NAT type.

 

I've tried calling Linksys support since I was still under warranty but trying to communicate to someone who's primary language is not English is very frustrating and after the time was up on my warranty Linksys wanted to charge me for this service.  I've reset the router twice, rolled back the firmware and this isn't helping any.  So my last ditch effort was to sign up for an account here and see if the linksys community can assist.  At this point I'm ready to give up but I paid good money for this router and have always purchased Linksys (Cisco) routers.  Should I abandon thsi company and go with another manufacturer? I don't wan to go otu and purchase another $100+ router and have the same issues with limited support.  

 

So should I be having these issues?  I hope I'm making some sense with my post here but if you need any logs or detailed information please let me know. I''m really ready to just throw in the towel on this router.

EA6900 Bridg Mode and USB

I am not finding any information on this, so any information would be appreciated..

If I have an EA6900 and I put it in Bridging Mode, can I still plug a USB drive into it and get the file sharing capabilities?  Or does Bridging Mode disable that?  All the support information I can find says that putting the EA6900 in Bridging Mode disables most of the features of the EA6900.

EA4500 - Problem with devices - Can't modify/delete devices

Hi everyone.

I have a little problem with my router.

When I go to Device List and try to delete any device, I have an error pop-up:

 

I try to re-flash with the same firmware, reset, but nothing to do...

Actual firmware is: FW_EA4500_2.1.39.145204.SSA

Hello everyone I am in need of your help in retreiving my password for my wireless internet. The software has been also deleted and I have been trying to reinstall the router for the past 2 hours and I tried resetting it as well. Can someone help me please. I am not a copmuter technician :(

I keep getting Physical Network connected, but not otherwise.  Then it says contact Linksys. i have a G 2,4 router. Do i need a new one? Or is there a secret to getting this hooked up?

WRT54G2vi wireless router

I just returned from 6 months away from my home router and when I tried to connect last night...my home network showed up, but there was no internet connection.

 

This morning, I tried to reset both the modem and router (as I've done many times in the past). Now, my network doesn't show up and there's no internet connection when I connect an ethernet cable from router to laptop. There is a good connection direct from moden to laptop.

 

Has this router died? Suggestions please. This router is barely a year old.

WRT54G2 V1 AND WRTG5G V5

Good Afternoon,

I have just replaced my TP Link with a MOTOROLA SVG2501 cable modem, we have four access points installed, two old DLINK DI524 and two Linksys: WRT54G2 V1 AND WRTG5G V5.

We have the following problem:

- The two old DLINK access points are working fine, we did not need to re configured  or else.

- The two Linsys do not work at all, no internet either wifi or lan, in both cases the light and the wifi sign indicate that there is internet coming in and even the wifi light is on but nothing, I have tried resetting, reconfiguring but the problem does not go away.

Due to the construction material used and the size of the house, we have lost internet access in half of it.

Could anyone please help me?

EA6500 Wireless SSID Networks not showing on some of my devices.

This is another strange issue with this router.  Since installing it the wireless networks are not showing up to select on many of my devices.  For example I have a Mac PowerBook and the EA6500 2.4GH network is not appearing in the window to select.

 

The Mac is sitting right on top of the router so it has great signal.  I can manually type in the SSID network name and password and I connect with full connection strength.

 

Also I do have an wireless extender and the extender displays and connects.

 

This is happening on many of my machines. 

 

On some machines like my streaming Blueray player the Networks displays with signal strength.

 

This is annoying.

 

What is going here.

 

How do I get the wireless networks to display for selection on all my devices.
