I am trying to resolve an issue for a customer who has a Linksys X3500. They have several computers and laptops, a couple of printers and a Cisco WAP300N on the other side of the house connected by wire to the X3500.
The X3500 and the WAP both have the same SSID and key, and the laptops can go from one to the other with no problem. Internet access works fine for all computers.
The problem I am having is that when a laptop is connected wirelessly with the X3500 it cannot see any other local device in this network, but when I take the same laptop to connect on the WAP300 side, it can see all the local devices okay, which rules out any kind of firewall or AV issue. I deduced from this that the X3500 has some kind of AP Isolation in effect but there is no setting in any menu to turn it off or even check if it is on. On other similar routers there is an Advanced Settings tab where AP Isolation can be turned on/off. The guest mode is turned off. I've also tried turning off the SPI firewall settings on the X3500. Have tried everything I can think of.
I spent some time with a Linksys tech to look into it, but it was not resolved.
Is there some way to get into the X3500 either via a secret menu or command line to check if AP isolation is turned on or off?
