Need understanding/implementation of WMM QoS on Linksys products clarified
My understanding is that WMM is a standards based certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance and is based on IEEE 802.11e
- I am attempting to provide priority QoS to my Moto X Smartphone which has WMM QoS enabled (voice).
- My understanding is any Router or Access Points that implements WMM (QoS) should arbritate the wireless data, determine if it is voice, video, best effort, or background. Then the Router/AP (in my case) would ensure that the WiFi Voice data from the phone will be placed in the transmit queue with the highest priority to be transmitted up stream to the service provider?
- So does a user just have to Enable WMM QoS or is it necessary to apply other settings?
