WRT3200ACM, 1.0.6.186168 SW Bugs, Network Map: a total mess!

Hi

 

My WRT3200ACM, running last SW, doesn't display the network map correctly: the refresh button is not working (tested with three browsers) and some mobile deivces are displayed as connected to the LAN interface, with no IPv4  assigned address but an IPv6 one. Very annoying. Also other  "ghost" devices connected to the LAN interfaces without any IP adress. Devices that actually doesn't exist in reality! A total mess! Cleaning the map, that is actually rebooting the rooter solves the problem just for the moment. Although the map is displayed correctly after reboot, in less than one day the network map is messed up again .

The router's uptime after a factory reset is about five days. Linksys support says their enginneers are working on this issue, that means I could wait a year until a new SW comes out and solves the problem. Do anybody have any idea what is all about?>

How the f*** can someone release a SW with such major bugs?!

EA9500 w/SanDisk SSD issue

Plugged into my EA9500 USB I have a hard drive for ftp and local network access which always worked great with a WD hard drive plugged in,
Recently I changed to a better SSD 500GB SanDisk drive, the device was recognize at first was really fast but then disappeared after trying to transfer some large files.

Nothing I do makes the drive appear again in the external drive setup on Linksys.
Unplug, even full reset and reload the configuration.

I formatted the SSD as NTFS which I read is compatible

The drive works and is fully functioning when plugged into a standard.

I'm kind of stumped anyone have anything I can try?

Linksys guru help required wrt1900acsv2 crashing

I've got a WRT1900acs V2 here that i got given, it seems to stop working after 5-10 mins regardless of if in use or just turned on with nothing connected, it takes firmware flash etc,
It had stock linksys on p1 and DD-wrt on P2 both seemed to lock up the router after certain time. 
Had spare time today so decided to connect serial, i seem to think this is the problem before it crashes it gives Internal error: Oops: 80000007 [#1] SMP ARM from putty output. (from a quick google this looks like a kernal panic?) 
i have tried flashing stock on both partitions with tftp but still seems to do the same, 
just wondered if anyone could shed some light on the issue? 
is there a command i can run from putty/serial to completely clean everything from the nvram and reflash again? (if indeed its a kernal panic i thought cleaning nvram may work, must add i have tried lots of resets and erase nvram from normal putty window not serial coms port window i mean) 
i have enclosed full putty output and ive xx:xx mac adresses

EA9500 v1.1 2.4ghz band drops after 6-12hrs or so

Been using this EA9500 for around 2 years now and its no longer reliable. 2.4ghz band drops after around 6-12hrs and I have to turn the radio off and then back on or reboot the router. 5ghz never seems to drop.

 

Ive tried factory reset, manually assigning less congested channels and numerous other tweaks found on the web.

 

Looks to be a pretty common issue with these routers. Does anyone know the cause of the issue? Can it be fixed by me if my warranty is up? How long is the warranty period on these anyway?

 

I switched it to bridge mode and am currently using it as a dedicated AP for 5gz w/ band steering. It does well, but now im using 2 devices for what should only be one... :/

EA8100: No ssid/wifi name

Hi Linksys,

 

I have a brand new, out of the box Linksys EA8100 Router which come together with StarHub Package.

Followed instructions that came with it.
Powered it on to configure it.

 

However, the EA8100 does not broadcast it's SSID/Wifi name.

I can connect to it via its ethernet ports via wired ethernet.

 

So LAN part seemed ok. Wifi part is not working.


Also updated the firmware, factory reset. But no joy.

 

Any ideas/suggestions  what could be wrong?

EA8100 Blinking White LED Logo(Fail 5GHz)

Hi Linksys Support team,

Router 5GHz able to connect but not able to connect to internet with blinking LED light.

No problem with LAN connectivity.

Had tried to power cycle the router. Disabled and enabled the 5Ghz wifi. Changed to different band. Issue still persist

Please advise.

EA5800 vs E5350 AC1000 Routers

Our local Walmart carries two Linksys AC1000 wireless routers, the EA5800 and the E5350, that are priced the same.

 

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two routers?  Would you recommend one over the other?  Thanks.

 

(I asked the LIve Chat on Linksys.com - and they were pretty clueless)

Sending UDP broadcast messages on "192.168.1.255" does not work. Is there any setting that enables broadcast feature ?

Adding an exception in the DNS resolver?

To start off, I've been having issues with my Plex server randomly crashing. After looking at the logs, someone on the Plex forums says that I might have a DNS rebinding issue. And he said to go into the router settings and add an exception in the DNS resolver, to allow private domain "plex.direct".

 

I have an MR8300, and I can't find this anywhere in the settings. Am I SOL here? Or am I just not seeing it?

EA9300 Drops 2.4 ghz but not 5 ghz with new firmware

I'm using an EA9300 with firmware 1.1.9.183697.  Approximately 3 or 4 weeks ago I noticed that my 2.4 ghz wireless would drop offline but my 5 ghz is stable.  The device has been working fine for 6 months and there have been no new devices added.  Steps taken to troubleshoot:

 

Power cycling the router

Factory reset router

Turned off guest network

Tested with a known good modem

Tested with another router (2.4 and 5 worked fine with my neighbors router plugged into my Modem)

 

I paid over $300 for this router and don't want to replace it.

EA2700 wired speed drops by a factor of 100!

I have been using my EA2700 for a wifi network since I bought it. I now have two computers with gigabit ethernet adaters connect by wire to the EA2700. If I power cycle the EA2700 and test the network speed between the two computers using iperf3.exe I get approximately 940 MBs. Several hours later running the same test shows 9.4 MBs. Power cycle the EA2700 and I am back to 940 MBs. What might cause this and how can I fix it? Thanks.

WRT 32x Mobile App support || new firmware for 2019???

Dear Linksys team, 

 

I would like to know why there is no real development for this model because I see it is still sold by Linksys, thus, still in production, more precisely: 

  1. why there is no mobile app support for this model?
  2. options in firmware are quite ... not enough for this powerhouse, why the firmware is so behind? 
  3. last firmware update is more than a year old, maybe many components need to be updated due to security reasons, is the project abandoned or someone is working on this?
  4. Hardware between wrt3200acm and 32x is almost identical ... why not a unified firmware? 
  5. why so slow development? 
  6. Asus firmware are also wrt based and they are way more advanced than Linksys firmwares.  

I would appreciate a technical answer and completely exclude marketing nonsense from here.

WRT1900ECS DHCP & DNS Issues

Got the unit 3 days ago. External IP is static and has DNS1 192.168.0.4 bind9 forwarder DNS2 8.8.8.8 DNS3 4.4.4.4 DHCP on router DNS1 192.168.0.4 bind9 forwarder DNS2 8.8.8.8 DNS3 4.4.4.4 ipconfig /all shows the router 192.168.0.254 as DNS Server. How the f... comes? He is no DNS Server and he simply denies the correct requests ----------------------------------------- C:\Users\Skipper>nslookup amazon.com Server: gateway Address: 192.168.0.254 DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. *** Zeitüberschreitung bei Anforderung an gateway. E4200 v1 - slow cable speed

Hello,

 

I noticed sine a while I'm getting slow download and upload speed with my E4200 v1 connected with cable to the PC.

 

There is no problem with the ISP since I tested:
- ISP cable - pc = 318 MBPS
- ISP cable - E4200 - PC = 60 MBPS and WiFi also ~55/60 MBPS

 

I tried to:
- reset to factory defaults
- reflash latest firmware 1.0.06
- power off, wait and power on
- disabled WMM Support
- I tried with all the 4 ports and all have the same speed

EA7300 External Storage not showing documents

I have an EA7300 router with a flash drive installed as external storage. I can access the drive from computers on my network, and I can see music and video files in separate folders I created. I created two folders to store documents, and I can see those folders in the system-created Browse Folders folder in Windows 10 FIle Explorer. However, those two folders are empty. I can see and access the files from my laptop when I plug in the flash drive. I can also see and acesss the files from the FTP site. What could be preventing me from seeing documents when the flash drive is plugged into the router?

EA8500 internet speed capped for first 1 second

I am on a gigabit fibre connection, the EA8500 is directly connected to the fibre ONT and using PPPoE plus VLAN tag 10 to the WAN port to establish an internet connection.

 

When doing some speedtest over my network I found there is some strange behave on my EA8500. It seems there is a speed cap or some rules holding the transfer speed for the first second then give up(or pass) to let the traffic go through. Here are some graphs showing this problem(all tests are done with only 1 LAN device connected):

You can see clearly that the first second all tests are capped at 280mbps and then let go slowly to reach the max speed.

 

I though it is the interet connection's problem but I tested it with the router my ISP provided:

The speed went right to the top when using the router my ISP provided so there is no problem with my internet connection.

 

So, I did more tests as follow:

 - Updating to latest firmware 1.1.9.192968, No help (I have to revert back to old firmware since wifi keeps dying on the latest firmware).

 - Resting the router, No help.

 - Turn off WIFI on the router, No help.

 - Disable IPv6, No help.

 - Untick everything under Security -> Firewall, No help.

 - Setting to bridge mode and connect to the router my ISP provided, well, actually worked, the speed reached max straight away if EA8500 is in bridge mode.

 - I can't test without VLAN tagging, since my ISP will not allow internet connection without VLAN tag.

 

But of course I don't want use the EA8500 in bridge mode. So, I am wondering if anyone knows what might causing this problem? Thank you.
