I recently bought an EA6900 and it worked fine for a few days. I updated it to the latest firmware. I will have internet connection for about a minute after I reboot it, then it will lose connection. I just reboot the router and it works for a minute or so. I just did a factory reset and everything seems to be fine now, but this kinda concerns me. Just asking if anyone else has seen this to identify a potential issue. If it does it again, I will let you know.
EA6900 Losing connection to router
Cisco E4200 and VPN and Vontage Phone service.
I have a E4200 Router. I would like to subscribe to a VPN service and possiby flash the router with DD-WRT so I can take advantge of of the VPN across my network and allow my various clents ( Roku, Boxee Box, etc ) to have access to the VPN. My question is what is required to to have access to VOIP say using Vontage. Will the router be cable of this ? Is it possible to be able to use the commerical VPN service using Linksys firmware ? It appears my only option is to use third party firm ware ,such as DD-WRT or Tomato for the VPN. I've heard some talking about using TWO routers, but I haven't been seen much detail on this option.
Thanks !

E2500 Not connecting to internet
Hi all I have an E2500 that I'm having connection issues with.
If I connect directly to the E2500 via wifi I can connect to the 2500 but I get an error on my laptop (or android phone) saying "no internet access".
If I connect to a buffalo wifi that connects into the E2500 I have no problem connecting to the internet.
This seems to happen on my lenovo laptop and my android phone. My ipad has the problem on occasion.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike
Cisco Linksys E1200 Router says ethernet cord is not connected
Hello,
I first had issues when there was a large thunderstorm that passed through the area. Lightning struck in my complex, and caused a large powersurge to go through my building. My router is plugged into a surge protector so I figured that it would be okay. The internet was out for a few days, and I only realized it came back when I plugged the ethernet cable directly into my laptop.
I have tried unplugging the router and waiting for a few minutes, then plugging it back into the power sources, then plugging the ethernet cable back in. To no avail, the internet is still unavailable to me wirelessly. I have tried different ethernet cords with no success. I reset the device to factory settings and have tried to set it back up with the CD and still no success; it does not recognize that the ethernet cord is plugged in.
I've had this router for about 2 years now and never had any problems till now. What can I do to fix it, if anything? Or do I need to just get a new one? Thank you!
EA3500 Parental Controls blocking wrong device, some devices not showing up on device lists
I've had my router for about 6 months, which seems to be about as long as routers last in my house. For the past few days, my Linksys EA3500 has been acting strangely. It's not showing all the devices connected to it in the list of connected devices. In addition, Parental Controls are blocking some of the devices that aren't showing up on the Connected Devices list.
For example, my daughter's computer isn't showing up on the list, which makes it impossible to use or change the Parental Control settings. It was there last week, but not the past few days. My laptop has also vanished from the list, but Parental Controls were blocking it from the internet, despite that I have never set Parental Controls on my computer. My wife had the exact same problem two days ago, except that her laptop did show up on the Connected Devices list. I've had to turn off Parental Controls completely in order to access the internet, which is never a good thing in a house with one teen and one pre-teen in it.
I've tried rebooting and power cycling the router. What can I do to resolve this?
[WRT54G] Ports not opening for a Minecraft server
So I want to set up a minecraft server, but I can't seem to open the port (25565).
I have a static ip.

Port Range Forward has been set to
Minecraft | 25565 to 25565 | TCP & UDP | IP: 192.168.1.15 (the static IP i set) | Enabled
Yet, http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ can't see me (yes, i have the server running).

Can anybody help me here? Very confused, I've opened multiple ports before, but this router just doesn't seem to like me :catfrustrated: .
Website filtering by keyword only certain hours of the day - E3000
I want to allow family members who access the internet through my E3000 router (including myself) to only access certain websites in the evenings to increase our productivity. I would like to filter the keyword "facebook" and set it so access to URLs/images with that keyword to only be allowed 5pm to 11pm, or denied 11 pm to 5pm. I can't find any way to make this work with the interface, denying by keyword only during certain hours. Can someone WHO KNOWS tell me what to fill in to make this work please? Thank you!
This is my admin screen for this I believe:

Issues with new N750 WNDR4300 model...
Just purchased this router. I am having issues with the devices jumping from the secured SSID to the guest SSID. The guest runs noticiably faster as well. I can understand encryption slowing it a bit but wow.
Searched on the forum and the NetGear website and this product does not come up?!!!
The router is on a network and behind another firewall/router. It works but sure is clunky and devices even close to the router get a "good" signal but nothing better. Just seems this router does not perform as well as several lower costing models.
Anyway, any advice accepted. I need to have a secure and guest SSID...
Thanks!

How do I port forward? Linksys E1200
Hello,
I make video games. I want to make a networked video game. I'm able to communicate with my software from the server and client if I do 127.0.0.1 so my software works. But when I try and connect via my IP address, it doesn't reach.
Here is what I did in my router:

It still didn't work. Is it possible I need to do something with my comcast modem or something? I called their tech support and they tried saying they needed to charge me a fee to help.

EA6300 - Windows TCP/IP Printing Using LPR Protocol to USB ??
I am in process of replacing an old Zyxel router with (probably) an EA6300 (depending on the answer to this post...)
Currently I have a Dymo USB label printer connected to the Zyxel's USB port, and my Windows 7 clients are set up to print to that device using the LPR protocol through a Windows TCP/IP print port connected to 192.168.1.1 (the IP address of the Zyxel).
So my question is whether the EA6300 will work in the same way?
Optimizing SSID
I have two Linksys routers: E1200 and a recently purchased EA6900 (purchased to increase coverage upstairs in our house) in a LAN to LAN configuration. Currently, the EA6900 (main router) is downstairs and the E1200 (secondary router) upstairs, but the range and signal strength isn’t optimal upstairs.
Would I achieve better and/or optimal range and signal by switching the location of these routers (making the EA6900 the secondary router)?
Thanks!
How to delete old wifi profile
My system crashed and once it was up and running again I installed a new wireless router. Now I can not delete the old linksys cisco profile on my Mac Pro nor can I delete them from my iPhone.
I done the normal deletes but when ever I reboot they re-appear?
I cannot log in to the online linksys system since I have a new router.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Cliff
Linksys WRT54G router..cant change password
I have been reinstalling my router due to problems i am having in getting my Ipad to recognize and connect to the network.I have been unable to change my password as others on this forum have experienced. I have followed every router hard reset procedure described in this forum ...press reset button for 30 seconds, disconnect power supply while continuing to press reset button and reconnect power supply while continuing to press reset button for another 30 seconds for a total time of pressing the reset button for 1 1/2 minutes. Then i go back into the router setup configuration and go the Admin section and delete the long password which is in there, enter a new one, and get the ...settings successful ...message, only to go back to the admin section and find the same old long password is still there. I have experienced the same problem with a second Linksys router model WRT310N which i tried as an alternative router.
After trying to reset the password about 50 times i am ready to give up because i cant find anything else to try and nothing seems to reset the password. I think that if i could actually get the password changed i could get my ipad to connect to my wife set up .My desktop and wireless printer are connected and working fine but cant get the ipad to connect even though it did before i had to reset the router.
Any help on this password change nightmare would really be appreciated. Thanks. :smileyfrustrated:
RE1000 connection problem
I just purchased a RE1000 (N300) extender and configured it manually. I have a TP-Link wireless router/modem. After the configuration, RE1000 connects itself to my AP and receives id address as expected. Also my laptop succesfully connect to RE1000 as I can see it in the client lists. However, it is not possible to connect vie this extender. I can not ping the router or anything else. When I move my laptop back to close to router/AP and when it reconnects not via the extender everything is fine again. It seems RE1000 is not able to forward via my router.
I had read somewhere that this extender has/had issues with non Linksys router. Is this a known issue or else do you have any suggestions to debug the problem.

E4200 (v1.0.05) IPSec issue
Hi,
cannot use my VPN client (Watchguard) to connecto my my office VPN through E4200 v1 with latest firmware.
If I connect directly to my modem without router - it's fine.
All Security -> VPN Passthrough (IPSec, PPTP, L2TP) are enabled.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.
EA6500 wifi range problem
I have bought a brand new EA6500 but I have a problem with the range of wifi. It's extremely short. I place my mobile phone near the router and I hardly get one or two bars signal. In order to configure it for the first time I had to place my laptop near it and again I got only 4 out of 5 bars signal in windows.
I have tried several things but the problem remains:
• Multiple resets
• Various configuration changes in wifi settings
• Enable/Disabled 5.0 GHz (problem is the same both in 2.4 and 5.0 GHz)
I suspect it's a hardware problem but I wonder if anyone else have seen this problem. Thanks! :)
EA3500 Parental Control Unexpected Error 2179 - why?
I am trying to set internet times for one of the computers on my network.
Must say though this router (3500) is set as an access point (not as the main router which is wired).
Then I get theEA3500 Parental Control Unexpected Error 2179 after I set the times.
I do not want to reset hard because I do not want this router to become main router !
What can I do for this ?
E2500 power light blinking; can't reset
I have a E2500 wireless router and have been using it fine for more than 6 months. Today I needed to direct connect to my computer so I unplugged the ethernet cable from my router and plugged into my computer, worked fine. When I was finished I plugged the ethernet cable into the router and tried to connect to the wireless but I could no longer find the signal from router. I tried reseting by unplugging and replugging the devices and computer but to no avail. The power light on the back is blinking and will not stop. I tried to hard reset the device by pressing the button on the bottom for 30+ secs and nothing happens just the power light keeps blinking. I even re-inserted the set-up disc but it can't do anything because it cannot find the router. I have no idea what to do next, any help or suggestions would be very appreciated as I have spent the last 5 hours frustrating myself.
Thanks,
-Jeff
Network infrastructure.
2 questions:
1. I have configured my EA6900 as the "main" router and an E1200 as my "secondary" router in a LAN-LAN configuration(article 3733). However, on my network, under the network infrastructure it shows both routers: one labeled linksys12572 (the EA6900) and the second router (E1200) as "slackers" (our network name). Furthermore, the computers on the network appear in both (Computers) and under "media devices" (Windows 7 Professional).
Shouldn't there be just ONE network infrastructure?
2. I cannot see the USB External drive that is visible under my linksys smart wifi set up screen.
