I bought the fastest barn burning Linksys to augment our families growing bandwidth needs, but have been so discouraged (spelled pissed off) I am ready to flush the smart WIFI and get something else.
I have an existing FIOS fiber interface/router/wireless G device and home netwok based on routers IP of 192.168.1.1.
I setup this router to limit the number and range of dynamic IP's so they do not assign higher than .110 I then setup the EA6900 router at 192.168.1.121 and starting dynamic IP of .122 for 50 devices.... Well within .256 limitation....
Sounds simple, yes? After getting everything setup, I plug it int the 192.168.1.1 network and the EA immediately reboots and comes back to life with a 10.X.X.X IP address completely blowing away my IP settings.
After spending 3 hours chatting with a guy at tech support who sounded like he was typing from a script... and 20 monutes on hold waiting for phone support, I figured I would give this a try.
HELP! Microcenter returns is my next step!
