IP address changing on WIFI connected camera after adding RE1000 to network.

My network is build around a EA6700 router and one device connected is a dLink DCS 5020L IP cam. The camera connected with IP: 192.168.1.116:80. I then forward this this address and port through the router to be able to access the cam from "outside".

Everything worked fine for many months until I was forced to add an RE1000 extender to boost signal to other devices too far away from the EA6700. After the usual small glitches setting up the new configuration everything seemed to be working fine - or maybe not.

Now I experince that the assigned IP-address for the IP-cam changes randomly. Sometimes it is 192.168.1.116:80 and sometimes it is 192.168.1.108:80. Not a problem "inside" the network, but a huge problem when accessing the cam from "outside" because when the address changes, then the port-forwarding rule becomes invalid. The solution may be to assign a static IP-address for the cam, but how to do that? If I enter ie. 192.168.1.116 as a static IP-address into the cam's configuration, I can no longer access the cam, so that is probably not a solution - I guess something has be changed in the EA6700 configuration too - but I only want to "fix" the address of the cam?

Regards,

Parsifal.
