Hello,
Have been tackling issues with frequent disconnections from my new ea6900 router. It was installed by the isp provider when they installed the ONT line. When the disconnects happen (every 5 mins or so) my laptop still shows connected to internet and wifi if I mouseover the connections icon in the sys tray, but there is a definite time out on the signal from the router.
I bought a dlink router to put in its place as I suspected an issue with the router itself as the ISP checked the line and claimed it was ok and I have never seen a disconnection light in the optical modem.
The new router has yet to drop its connection and Im using it now to try and find out a solution to my ea6900 issues. The ea6900 was flashed to the latest version by myself using the smartlinksys interface just after connection by the isp provider. Again I must stress that the disconnects happen whether wired directly to the router or on wifi. In fact the wifi appears solid, and inSSIDer reports low line noise and i've selected the least congested channels.
The connection is PPPOE, username and passwords correct.
Any ideas what I should do, I was quite impressed by the speeds and range of the ea6900 router which was indeed why i chose it, so I'd prefer to get it working correctly than to take it back and replace it with another manufacturer.
Thanks in advance.
