router controlled network

Hi,

I am using a Linksys EA6500 router, with a Linksys E4200 wired in series for additional ethernet connectivity to my cable modem. I also have a wireless bridge (switch) wirelessly connected to the EA6500 network, and have a computer (let's call it Slave) hardwired to the bridge. It enables me to have ethernet connectivity on the other side of the room, without stringing a cable around the woodwork. There may be other ways, but this works great and gives me Gbit connection speed on what used to be a 300 MBit wireless connection.

I have discovered two issues, that I can't explain, so I am soliciting some input.

1. On my master computer, the one hardwired to the EA6500, the connected network name (on the Network and Sharing Center page) shows up as 'Linksys' (I assume the default router name), but on the 'slave' computer, the connected network name shows up as 'Home' the wireless network name. The two computers show that they are connected to the same network, but they each show a different name for that network. This leads to my next issue.

2. I have allowed network sharing (completely) on both computers (Master and Slave (just names, no implied hierarchy)). The Slave can open files on the Master and manipulate them, but when I try to even 'see' files on the Slave (from the Master), it syas the 'user has not been granted the required logon type at this computer'. The slave shows up as a computer name on the Master's network connections, but the slave won't let the Master access files. Both computers are running 8.1, and every file sharing option that I can find is set identical on both machines; but one can access the other, and not vice-versa.

Any thoughts,

Thanks,

Tunes
