EA4500 Hang

I could use some help troubleshooting a recurring, intermittent problem with my EA4500. It will hang every once in awhile. No discernable pattern, sometimes goes for a month without an issue, sometimes happens twice a week. It does not seem to be related to a power fail though that has initiated it on occasion.  Other times it has happened when the power seems fine.

The symptoms when this happens are that the Cisco logo is solid, bright white. But none of the ports on the back are lit or showing any activity.  Not surprisingly, no network access when this happens.

I'd normally expect that a power cycle would resolve this.  But if I unplug the unti and plug it back in, nothing happens.  The same symptoms are in evidence whether I leave it unplugged for 2 seconds or 2 minutes. I can eventually clear this through repeated unplugging and plugging back in.  But again, no pattern.  Sometimes works on the 2nd or 3rd try. Sometimes takes 9-10.

The rest of my network is fine.  I've verified this with another router, and as evidenced by the fact that once I can get it to reboot, all is fine with no other changes to the other devices on the network.

I'm sure if I call that support will suggest a reset process. But A) I've tried that and the problem eventually comes back. B) I have several setup changes from the default setup and it would be a royal pain to reset every time this happens, and C) I travel often and rely on my home network for remote access to home automation and information, so a reliable reboot is expected, and a local reset is not viable.

Anyone else seeing this?  Is there a reliable way to recover from the hang other than a full reset?

Thanks
