WRT1900AC Router to Netgear Switch Issue

I'm frustrated, cause this seems quite simple....however, I cannot get it to work & need to throw the help flag.

Equipment:
Century Link PK5001Z modem to WRT1900AC in my basement home office.
I hardwired the basement WRT1900AC to a Netgear GS605 switch upstairs to in turn hardwire additional home theater devices. Right now, just a home av Reciever.

Problem: The switch will provide an Internet signal to the Reciever for less than a minute and then drop off....& will continually repeat this cycle.
If I instead hardwire from the Century Link to the switch, everything functions correctly without issue.
I do not want to do it this way cause I lose features like AirPlay & Reciever app functionality.

I'm certain I'm missing something simple.....however, I am not a tech guy.
I would really appreciate any help.
