Another lovely problem has cropped up with my EA6900 after I fixed the last problem. Over the course of a day, the 2.4ghz network will randomly drop connection to every device connected to it. The 5ghz channel is fine. As soon as the signal drops for the 2.4, my laptop immediately connects to the 5ghz and stays connected. No dropped signals there, the connection is strong at about 50mb/s. When I test the 2.4ghz channel it's like the speed is constantly dropping/dying off/fluxuating wildly. The router isn't overheating as far as I know. It's always an acceptable temperature because our house is always freezing.
Things I have tried:
-Changing the channel around (1,6,11 but keeping away from our neighbor's channels)
I don't really know what else to do. I've seen some people suggest changing the channel to G only. Will that affect performance a lot? I want to keep up a decent connection on the 2.4ghz channel because I use it on the xbox for gaming and the rest of the family devices use that channel as well. Suggestions, help?
